IOTA – Setting the Standard in Bespoke Manufacture
Pre-Contract
Conceptual Design Planning
IOTA does not offer conceptual design services, nor services relating to statutory compliance [such as planning / building regs].
However, we are always happy to assist architects, designers and specifiers with budgetary input; and with advice as to how their conceptual designs might be refined or developed, and/or value-engineered into more practical, cost-effective solutions.
In addition, the Specifiers Area of our website, and the Projects section, offer a wealth of advice and inspiration to designers and specifiers, based on IOTA’s extensive past project experience.
Finally, IOTA does offer a range of standalone chargeable services [particularly site survey and inspection, and Structural Engineer assessment], which can form part of pre-contract statutory compliance filings / applications.
Detailed Design
Once contracted, IOTA offers a complete manufacturing design service, to deliver whatever the conceptual design brief envisages.
Our design experience covers a wide range of landscape and construction product areas, including:
- Architectural metalwork
- Planters – both freestanding planters, and planted perimeters
- Seating and benching
- Planters and/or seating with integrated lighting
- Balustrades, screens, trellises and fencing
- Tree grilles and guards
As required, IOTA can also accept full Design Responsibility, and/or provide clients with Structural Engineer evaluations. And IOTA is very familiar with the need, on larger projects, to integrate our designs with other interfacing contracts – such as cladding, drainage, irrigation, hard landscaping etc.
Manufacturing
IOTA offers bespoke manufacture in all sheet metals, the most commonly specified being:
- Mild Steel and Zintec [zinc-plated] Steel, and Aluminium
- All grades of Stainless Steel, including 304, 316 and 1.4003 grades
- COR-TEN Steel and other ‘weathering’ steels [such as S355JOW and S355J2W]
IOTA has a unique industry reputation in also offering ‘precious’ sheet metals, supplied pre-patinated by hand – specifically Zinc, Lead, Bronze/Brass and Copper.
In addition to sheet metal, IOTA has long experience in delivering complex, multi-material products – including elements of timber, natural stone, glass, acrylic etc. plus branding / signage and electricals.
Installation
“IOTA delivers”. And central to IOTA’s success, and reputation, is that we also offer a full suite of site services – including installation.
Allied to IOTA’s Design and Manufacturing capabilities, IOTA’s extensive site experience allows us to offer complete contract solutions – up to full Design and Build [D&B] responsibility. As required, this can include:
- Remove pre-existing structures, install temporary edge protection, and clear site ready for installation.
- Deliver new products from IOTA factory to-site, on most appropriate vehicles.
- Hire and oversee specialist lifting contractor to carry out contract lift, and attend to all statutory and site requirements [e.g. Council approvals and licenses].
- Install new products, including fixing down to support structures according to SE-approved fixing designs.
Post-Contract
IOTA has been a supplier to the UK landscape and construction industries for more than two decades, and we pride ourselves on ‘being there for the long haul’.
IOTA offers extensive post-contract services, which can be called upon on a standalone basis. These include:
- Site survey and inspection.
- Damage assessment / documentation.
- Remedial works – whether on-site, or back at the factory.
IOTA can also organise routine on-site, wet spray, paint reapplication [for Polyester Powder Coat finishes, the recommended maintenance interval is typically every 9-12 years].
